The course commences with a brief introduction to the use and application of 2D software in the industrial design profession. The operation and navigation within the user interfaces of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat is explained and practised (menus, icons, hotkeys, functions, etc.) before each essential function is trained and clarified.
A simple product including graphics and typography will be drawn in Adobe Illustrator and subsequently illustrated so as to look highly detailed and credible. The product illustration will then be used in Photoshop to learn how to achieve even more realistic 2D renderings, including the import of materials and textures.
Adobe InDesign will be used to learn basic layout principles including image sourcing and placement. The final results will be exported as pdf-files in order to build lightweight professional design presentations.
